Veterinarian
Dr. Elena Azad brings a wealth of experience in both clinical practice and scientific research. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Tehran in 2005, followed by a Ph.D. in surgery in 2012. Her passion for advancing veterinary medicine led her to pursue a second Ph.D. in gut microbiome studies, which she completed in 2021 at the University of Manitoba.
Throughout her career, Dr. Elena has been deeply involved in veterinary research and education, including her work as a research assistant at the University of Queensland in Australia before moving to Canada in 2013. She is dedicated to providing high-quality care and staying at the forefront of veterinary advancements.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Elena enjoys hiking, mountain climbing—having summited several +4000m peaks—canoeing, and exploring aquatic life. She is also an avid reader, violinist, and proud pet parent to her two beloved cats, Fingil and Brady.
